A photo of Eishona in some new armor is pasted to the page, along with a Zandalari troll who looks very proud.

I mentioned him before, though not his name? He’s a master leather worker I’ve been working with to learn new skills from. He told me if I earned it, he’d craft me some new armor in the style of his people! His name is Xanjo, and I apparently earned his favor because he presented me with a set of mail armor last night. After the amount of beasts I’ve hunted down for parts for him, I thought I’d never be done. Our arrangement was simple - I hunt beasts and acquire parts - bones,  skins and hides, and teeth and he’d make some armor for me. It’s a little garish compared to what I usually wear but it fits well and is light for it’s size. I’m going to head out to Vol’dun for some work in a day or so, so I’ll get to test it then!

I heard from Vik’wa, she’s in Zuldazar, learning from the Zandalari Mages here. We met tonight to discuss our travels and encounters since arriving. Vik’wa and I talked a long time about the Loa here - one specifically is Jani, the Loa of  trash, secrets and scavengers. I felt a connection to this one - I scavenge a lot. I cut away from kills others leave behind to collect bones and teeth frequently - a kill shouldn’t lay to waste after all. A lot of mine and Ginja’s business comes from scavenging in that manner. There is no harm in it - One person’s cast offs could be our benefit. My current hunting companions even, are opportunistic - hunting or scavenging as hyenas are wont to do.

I encountered a shrine to Jani here in Zandalar, a heap of trash that looked promising. As soon as I bent over to touch it, Jani appeared, laughing. It was disconcerting, not not specifically harmful. He asked if I had something good to offer, so I offered a precious bag of really good scales, and said my offering was pleasing! Since then I feel like my finds have been really good. I am careful to make offerings at shrines to Jani I see now. Vik’wa suggested I purchase a trinket representing Jani, or make my own shrine to him here in Zandalar, that a Loa appreciates any worship, so long as they are remembered. So I think I’ll do that - I saw a trinket seller the other day when I was wandering the marketplace with Ginja. I imagine they’d have a saurid carving, I noticed raptors and pterrodaxes. It feels right, maybe a bit like my offering to Krag’wa. Though with Krag’wa there was an element of fear. I suppose that comes from encountering a being large enough to eat you if you displease them.

I look forward to seeing how this relationship with this Loa develops. It’s about time for sleep now. I’ll write more when I can.
