Hoo, let me tell you.
Getting around Kalimdor without portals is an ordeal but it’s so nice to see the different regions at a slower pace. Like the dryness of Durotar and the Barrens, the damp of Feralas or the freshness of Mulgore. It certainly helps the kodos out. They, will mine at least, don’t enjoy portal trips or airship rides - they’re best on the roads. Traveling through the Barrens has been weird, specially since I know Weylo still resides out there. In the Crossroads, they say he still comes to visit for trade and menial work every few weeks. I’ve heard he looks unkept and terrible lately. No word from him directly though - and that’s perfectly fine by me.
I spent a busy week traveling with Ginja and the team on a route run through Mulgore and the Barrens before taking a trip back to Feralas to the Night Claw camp with a shipment of goods to help relations between the Chortlemaw and the Nightclaw - it’s important to have more than bloodshed between us, I think. I feel Xet will agree when I tell him. Plus Ginja and i had so much in storage!
The chieftan of the Night Claw - Lequioa - was gracious, accepting the gift and sending me on my way with skulls for Xet, and a promise to help crack heads later on. As it is, I found out her people have had misgivings about helping the local Grimtotem in Feralas - I only recently learned Grimtotem have a bad reputation for being.. well. Unpleasant. But the way Xet described their calves being eaten and skinned.. no one deserves that. Even if your people have a history of being assholes. Ginja says it’s a nasty shit of a person to hurt the babe of any people, and I think I agree. They are babes, and should be defended.
On my way back to Orgrimmar, I met with Ginja in the Crossroads. I left Tulk and Lhoag with her for trade runs, and took Tusok back with me. I had a class with Vik’wa - we’re learning how to cook certain meats. Pork and chicken. I had no idea those were so versatile! Later that evening, I met a lovely troll, one of those Drahkurri types! He was much more clothed than the first I met, but we talked and determined we could work out a trade. My leathers and hides for his forging a sturdy hatchet to replace the one I nearly broke on that drake back in Stormheim. It arrived the next day exactly as ordered: Simple and sturdy. It’ll chop wood or bash in a skull to finish off what my arrows don’t. Also important: it’s got a good edge! The old one wouldn’t keep an edge for a roots worth.
No word from Routledge lately, I trust he’s found work abroad. I hope I can makeit back to Highmountain soon. I’ve been in Kalimdor a while, I miss it out there
