Glued to the page is a picture of a large, intimidating looking being. Closer are two horde members.
We made it. It took us over a day to get here, but we did it. And we were successful! Whenever we go here it;s hard to get a picture- we’re too busy trying to get in and out before the Legion sends more demons at us. This time the target Aggramar! Vik’wa said she had info about him for me for later. Luckily, we have some really amazing mages with portal magic to get us in and out quickly. So I was able to snap this photo.
The fight was terrible, so much burning and searing pain - I thought my fur was gone for a while. But when we made it back to to camp, I found it was a product of magic, not actual fire. Well maybe some fire. I’ve lost fur on my ears and arms - but we made it. A little fur lost is a small price. Others sustained burns in varying degrees, Tusok being one of them. I’ll be applying salve for a while, the poor thing.
Speaking of magic.. I have seen so many kinds lately. I saw shamans using elemental forces.. druids and their natural magics - I mean they shot starlight at this thing. Mages with fire.. it’s bewildering. And then these folks from the Army of the Light with their.. their Light. They are a kindly people mostly - some don;t want to talk to a tauren, and I get that. Most though are ready to share their fire and stories. One, a male draenei, explained there is Light, and the absence of it - he called it the Void. He likened it to the druids who have day spells of the sun, and night spells with the stars. That there is a balance.
“We strive to maintain a balance - that is why you have priests of the Light, and some of the Void - not all are inherently evil or just. “ Which I guess explains why I saw an elf with creepy tentacles of darkness. He was really patient with my questions. I took many notes to look things up with in Vik’wa’s library next time I am able to visit.
I think about it though, and recall what I was taught about my own people. That thing about the Earthmother and her eyes? An’she and Mu’sha I think Mr Jukko called them? He said one is open while the other sleeps - he said that’s our way of explaining the sun and the moon. That there is a balance. I wonder if there are SUnwalkers of the night time? Moonwalkers? or are those the druids? they seem so moony, but Vik’wa said thats an elven influence since they were some of the first druids. So I wonde,r if I were to follow something would it be this light? An’she? or this druid moon stuff? Both are interesting. Mr Jukko explained, as others have said if it feels right, I’ll know. I suppose since I am still wondering it’s not quite ‘right’ yet.
I sent a letter to Routy before we left here, no idea if he got it. The goblin I sent it with never came back to camp with a reply. I’m not angry anymore at him - still a little unnerved, but ok. I can handle this. He can change shape, a little without warning.. but we can manage this. I spoke with a druid here on the matter of shape changing, even showing off the forms she can take. She said some who can change shape are stronger at it than others, that others can;t control it as well. Could that be the case with Routy? I didn’t tell her about him - it’s not her business. But I did ask if worgen have that too - being shape strong or not, and she did say yes. Food for thought, maybe? I wonder how to ask him. It’s such a delicate topic. He flushes and gets heated when talking about it.
We’re here for another few days, as back up to the team on whats called the final mission. I hear we’re close to a victory here. Talk of the end of the legion, even! Imagine, no more demons - what a refreshing thought! I haven’t experienced the full force of the abilities like so many here, but I’ve seen and felt enough to know it’s all so terrible. We’ll know in a few days I expect if they are successful. Until then, I train, I go on patrol with other teams. We battle the demons and some of us even pray.
I joined in on a prayer circle of my own people here, led by an elder bull - a druid. He made this little offering of salt, oil and oats at a fire and asked the Earthmother for strength and vigor. People played drums, others stamped their hooves. It was a curious event. Everyone left a little offering for the fire at the end - I didn’t know to bring anything, so I offered the bread I was saving for later. This bull said all offerings are good, that you give what you can.
It made sense I guess. It’s all still confusing. I took the time after the ceremony to speak to others about tribes that maybe have room for another. I was told to talk to someone in this Broken Horn Tribe, that they might be what I seek. So when I get back, I might. Or I’ll send them a letter if that carrier ever comes back. Mail is taken and delivered once every three to five days here on the account we’re on Argus.
It’s time for a patrol - I can hear the horns calling. Time for me to collect my kodo and head out again. I hope I come back.
