There is no picture, only the mostly careful writing from the doe.

What a day. I’m back on Argus. You know I went home the night before - it was Winterveil after all, and I’d promised to be home in time. I got in in the evening hours and found Routy home!  It was so good to see him, I miss him already. I brought home so much peppermint candy and fruitcake, I think we’ll be set for sweets for a while. Highmountain is, as ever looking amazing. Such clear air. I couldn’t wait to go hunting as I flew in from Dalaran.

The best part though!! I gave him his gifts - the gloves and apron I’d made - and he seemed happy! I hope they work out ok, I tried to make them as thick as possible without sacrificing their ability really move - but the leather is thick stuff, it takes using it and breaking it in to really see how it’ll do for him.
We had a nice enough evening, sitting together by the fire and enjoying each others company - but then Ginja came by. Usually I’m happy to see Ginja. She’s one of my team that I hired out of Orgrimmar. She’s quick - she can negotiate a portal for less coin than I, and get make the mage feel like they’ve got a great bargain. She usually carries messages and smaller parcels for me between vendors and buyers. She must have been in Dalaran when this mesage came through, because it was post marked there, but delievered by her hand in Highmountain.

Well, it was nice enough to see her right? But the letter was a direct summons for duty back on Argus from the Army of the Light. I was (ok, I am still a little) irritated - because I’d JUST gotten home, you know? But Routy put it in to perspective and made it sound less shitty. So I ended up in bed early - I was just so tired. He stayed up and worked, as is his practice. My duty here on Argus is to assist with a takedown of a key entity in this place they call Antorus - something about huge dogs? My commander is being fairly tightlipped, so all I can do it keep myself and my kodo ready go. Ginja said the Vindicar and the surrounding regions in control by the Army of the Light have been very busy. So I anticipate we’ll be getting down to business very soon. Least I hope so. I’m not sure how long I’ll be, I hear we could be a week, or just a day or two.

I keep looking down - Routy sent me off this morning with such a sweet surprise. He was up before I was - he usually is - and had coffee ready, as well as a fortifying meal of bacon, greens and eggs. Before I got my coffee, he gave me the smallest box! I unwrapped it and found a sweet ring! It just fits on my second finger. I can feel it as I work on my arrows or brush down Tusok, a little bit of Routy to think of as we’re apart. What a sweety right? I left pretty early, but not after sharing breakfast and a good kiss or two - oof. If I had a proper tail, he’d have it curling in to knots! Shame I had to go so early, else I’d have helped him un make the bed.

Vik'wa taught me that phrase, she said it’s better to unmake the bed with a lover than with just yourself and I find I must agree. Though.. ugh, our bed was so comfortable last night. It smelled of Routy - like the way he smells after working a while? Not really a reek, but a good scent. Ginja called it a ‘nice stank’ when I mentioned it, and maybe that’s appropriate. But the bed! I don’t think I’ve fallen asleep quicker. Surely there is something to be said in support for one’s own bed.

Oh - got to go, being called for a patrol. I’ll write again soon!
