OH! But I have been so busy!
I went to Mulgore - and enjoyed time with the Thundermoon Tribe as they had their festival! Oh but it was nice - foods, drinks stories. I tried to set up for leather trading - but no one seemed interested. Which is fine - I did better in Valdisdall anyhow. Rakahu was there - with this amazing device. A dunk tank! You throw balls at the target. If you hit it right, it releases his seat and he gets plunked in to a big bin of water. I tried, but didn’t succeed - it was fun to try though. Others did manage, and Rak took it all in good humor, such a fun Bull, Rakahu.
After the dunk tank, there was a story - the Tribes origins. I want to learn more. I may approach Rhedin, or maybe Rushala for more information. Speaking of stories, I finally heard from Vik'wa. She sent me a HUGE letter, and a large book. ‘A History of the Races of Kalimdor’ - I hope to set down with it soon. Her letter mentioned it might explain a few things about this faction conflict. I think I’d prefer to talk it over. I want to ask Routledge about it - he’s a human after all. He’d have insight I think - but that feels unseemly. Like when I asked that Forsaken lady how can she be dead but still walking.
What else.. Oh, Routledge and I are going on a dragon hunt soon, looking for scales - Grynda says hunting the dragon is a mighty undertaking. Kind of nervous for that, but we’ll see.
I wrote to Miss Rhedin about matters of the Earthmother, and faiths. I’m really curious about spirituality, totems - that sort of thing. The way Grynda talks about dragons made me more curious. She considers them her own totem, having been marked by one. She bears a tattoo of one, and talks about them with such reverence - like I hear when I meet with my own people. The Earthmother is regarded with such awe - I want to know more. Miss Rhedin suggested I speak with someone called Lin Bluepaw - I hope to meet her at the village. Hopefully she can shed some light on the matter.
I also met up with Rakahu and Meelo - he was making shampoo at his home. It smelled nice - I’m going to try and purchase some from him. He says it’s good for the fur and mane. I wonder if he knows how to trim one. Mine is so ragged, I’d like a little order to it.
The meeting in the Barrens was interesting - Ebon mentioned there’s a path to walk that some of us can aspire towards. a Pathfinder - I want to ask about it, see if I can offer myself and my abilities to this tribe. They’ve been generous, I want to give back.
Actually made it to Dalaran twice now. I don’t care much for it - it smells just.. just weird. Someone explained that’s from the mana in the spells used to keep the city afloat. Between you and me though, give me the good earth beneath my hooves, and we’ll call it good. I traded there though - so many people are eager to by the teeth of wolves and bears. Less so the hides of those beasts - trading is slower. I think as my tanning gets better, I might have better luck. The furs demand a higher price, which I think is part of the issue. Grynda told me, “You make money on them from those willing to pay- it take work to get wolf fur. Price reflects this.” She’s so helpful, I’m grateful for her wisdom.
Dalaran I am finding is the hub of activity. Besides being outrageously noisy.. I am hearing so much in way of news - so much is happening. I hear names- Illidan, Khadgar. A place of note was mentioned to me by a fellow tauren. ‘Highmountain’. She says I should make my way out there, meet with the antlered tauren there! Antlers, I said? Antlers. I might try that out, and meet these antlered people. But first I think that dragon hunt needs to be done. Hopefully Routledge is on board.
